SC/SU

The term Pneumatic SC / SU refers to a popular series of standard double-acting air cylinders widely used in industrial automation. These are workhorse components that convert the energy of compressed air into linear mechanical motion (pushing or pulling a load). Key Features Double Acting: They move a piston rod in both the extension and retraction directions using compressed air for force. Standardized: They are designed with common bore sizes and mounting options for easy interchangeability across many manufacturers. Adjustable Cushioning: They typically include adjustable air cushions at both ends of the stroke to slow down the piston gently, reducing impact, noise, and wear. SC vs. SU (Model Difference) The main distinction between the two model types often relates to the cylinder barrel construction: SC (Tie-rod Cylinder): Features external tie rods that run the length of the cylinder, connecting the front and rear end caps. This is the classic construction style. SU (No-tie-rod / "Mickey Mouse" Cylinder): Features a smoother, cleaner profile where the tie rods are often internal or the barrel design eliminates the external rods, making the unit more compact and aesthetically clean, sometimes referred to as a "Mickey Mouse" style cylinder due to the groove profile.
